Description
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to maintain and improve our infrastructure, automate processes, and enhance system reliability. Our client is a leading company in the Israeli construction quality control and safety space, currently experiencing strong growth and backed by recent investment to accelerate expansion into the US market.
About the Role
This role is for someone who wants to combine deep technical expertise with real product impact.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will help define infrastructure and DevOps practices, contribute to architectural decisions, and ensure high standards of reliability and scalability. You will own infrastructure and delivery processes end-to-end - from understanding system needs to implementation, releases, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
The role does not require close day-to-day collaboration with the product team, but it does require full ownership of infrastructure-related processes and outcomes.
You will work both on improving existing infrastructure, including addressing technical debt, and on building a platform for new product capabilities.
At the current stage, the main focus is on stabilizing and scaling the infrastructure, while gradually improving automation and delivery processes.
Responsibilities:
Own the DevOps direction and continuously improve the current infrastructure
Be responsible for monitoring and system recovery when issues occur
Participate in infrastructure discussions, propose improvements, and contribute to implementation, gradually taking full ownership of the infrastructure
Document solutions clearly and create reusable guides for repeatable tasks
Work closely with developers to ensure smooth and reliable production delivery
General requirements:
6+ years of experience in IT, including 2–3+ years in DevOps roles
Background in software development or system administration
Able to design work before implementation and describe it at a high level in form of tasks
Able to set expectations and meet them
Core tooling & platform experience:
Strong hands-on work with AWS and Kubernetes
Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (preferred), Pulumi, or similar tools
Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or GitLab CI
GitOps/CD tooling such as ArgoCD
Observability stacks such as Prometheus and Grafana
Autoscaling systems and defining meaningful system metrics for performance and scaling
Serverless architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda)
Systems & infrastructure knowledge
Strong understanding of the following areas:
Networking fundamentals: NAT, DNS, SSH, bastion/jump hosts, socks5, vpn
Linux administration: systemd, logical volumes, shell scripting
Databases: backup and restore strategies (full/incremental backups, logical and binary dumps, PITR, WAL)
High availability and disaster recovery concepts: redundancy, replication, scalability, load balancing, SLA, downtime
Scaling principles: vertical vs horizontal scaling, trade-offs and use cases
Identity and access management: SSO, SAML
Nice to have:
Experience in mobile applications submission to google play and appstore. Release management.
Metrics collection and monitoring in any of metrics aggregation tools: Prometheus/graphana, cloudwatch, azure appinsights.
Our Recruitment Stages
HR Interview ~1h
The first meeting with our HR manager to discuss general questions, learn about the company, and understand your work expectations.
Technical Interview ~1-1,5h
At the technical interview, your fundamental and practical DevOps knowledge will be assessed, along with your ability to solve infrastructure-related tasks, your experience with real-world scenarios, and your capability to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of infrastructure.
Interview with the CTO ~30min
An interview with our Chief Technical Officer to discuss your experience, vision for development, and alignment with our culture.
HR Interview with the Customer ~30min
The final meeting with our HR manager and our customer to clarify details and make the final decision.
We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just “close tickets,” but wants to be part of the product, influence it, and see the real impact of their work.
If this resonates with you — we’d love to connect 🙂
