Component Engineer / Hardware Support Engineer

Description
We are looking for a
Component Engineer / Hardware Support Engineer
to support our hardware / IoT projects with BOM management, component selection, procurement-related activities, and hands-on work with hardware prototypes.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and update BOMs for hardware / IoT projects.
Support component selection based on technical requirements, availability, cost, lead time, and lifecycle status.
Analyze datasheets, technical specifications, and manufacturer documentation.
Help identify alternative components when the original parts are unavailable, obsolete, or not suitable for production.
Support component substitution decisions together with the hardware engineering team.
Communicate with procurement, suppliers, distributors, and production vendors regarding component availability and alternatives.
Work with hardware prototypes and lab equipment locally in Warsaw.
Support hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, and basic validation activities.
Maintain manufacturing-related documentation, including component lists, assembly-related notes, and production support materials.
Collaborate with hardware, embedded, procurement, and production teams.
Requirements:
1+ year of experience in hardware engineering, electronics engineering, component engineering, hardware support, or a similar role.
Experience working with electronic components and technical documentation.
Basic experience with BOMs, component lists, or production-related documentation.
Ability to read and analyze datasheets and technical specifications.
Understanding of electronic components and basic electrical circuits.
Practical understanding of component selection principles.
Basic understanding of component substitution: compatibility, footprint/package, electrical parameters, interfaces, temperature range, availability, and lifecycle status.
Familiarity with PCB manufacturing or assembly processes.
Hands-on experience with lab equipment, such as multimeter, oscilloscope, power supply, logic analyzer, or similar tools.
Readiness to work with hardware and lab equipment locally in Warsaw.
English — Intermediate or higher.
