Spendbase is a fast-scaling fintech helping companies optimize their SaaS, cloud, and corporate card spending. We’re expanding our product and building new banking features, so we’re looking for a
Middle Backend Developer (Node.js/NestJS)
who can take ownership of clear product tasks and ship reliably.
What you’ll do:
Develop new user-facing features in our Spend Management and Banking modules
Build and maintain REST/JSON APIs consumed by our web and mobile applications
Integrate and update connections with third-party services (Stripe, AWS, Google, HubSpot, etc.)
Work with AWS services as part of our infrastructure
Improve the performance of heavy pages (tables, analytics, billing views)
Design data models and write efficient database queries and migrations
Cover critical flows with unit and integration tests
Collaborate with frontend teams to define API contracts and ensure smooth integrations
Participate in grooming and break features into manageable tasks with the product team
What we’re looking for:
2–4
years of experience with
JavaScript
and
TypeScript
Solid understanding of HTTP, REST, auth, and asynchronous workflows
Experience with PostgreSQL and Prisma (or similar ORM)
Practical experience with
AWS
services
Ability to read backend API documentation and propose improvements
Comfortable working independently with product requirements
Startup mindset: ownership, speed, initiative
Upper-Intermediate English or higher
Nice to have:
Node.js knowledge for API debugging
Experience with fintech or any transactional system
Knowledge of
Go (Golang)
or desire to learn and use it in production
Familiarity with CI/CD and frontend performance monitoring
