A fintech startup building a banking and cash-management platform for businesses that sell physical goods. The company automates the financial backend for consumer brands. The team is small but mighty — people who've come from companies like Shopify, Square, Rippling, and Toast.
About the role
You'll help shape where the product goes next — working closely with engineers, designers, and founders to design, build, and iterate on core parts of the platform. You'll own projects end-to-end: from scoping and building to testing, shipping, and refining based on real-world user feedback.
We're looking for someone who loves crafting clean, fast, and intuitive user experiences, is comfortable with ambiguity, writes maintainable, high-quality code, and wants to contribute to the engineering culture. You can be strong in backend or frontend (or both), but you should be willing to work across the stack when needed.
Requirements
5+ years in full-stack software engineering
Proven ability to lead and deliver technically challenging, cross-functional projects
Kotlin, TypeScript / React, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud
Comfortable designing APIs, debugging complex systems, and writing tests
Interest in (or willingness to learn) basic financial concepts
Strong product sense and the ability to make thoughtful tradeoffs
Knows when to ship vs. when to refactor
Nice to have
Startup or small-team experience
Experience with B2B products like Square or Toast
Experience with consumer apps like Cash App, Robinhood, and Coinbase

Work setup: in-person, five days a week (New York or Toronto) — no remote option
Location: New York or Toronto
