You will join a cross-functional team working on Paybis core products and services, where development is organized in agile teams (Developers, QA, DevOps, BA).
Your Role
As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining backend services, contributing to system architecture, and ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability of our products.
We are looking for a strong PHP engineer with solid backend experience, analytical thinking, and a proactive mindset, who is eager to grow and contribute to product development.
What you’ll do
Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable PHP code
Develop features end-to-end, from concept to production
Refactor legacy code to improve stability and performance
Identify bottlenecks, bugs, and implement effective solutions
Write unit, integration, and functional tests
Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards
Collaborate with Developers, QA, DevOps, and Product teams
Contribute to improving system architecture and scalability
Participate in production support and on-call activities when required
Requirements
3+ years of experience in PHP backend development
Strong experience with Symfony (v5/6)
Experience with MySQL and Redis
Experience with message brokers (e.g. RabbitMQ)
Solid understanding of OOP, DDD, and design patterns
Understanding of microservices / service-oriented architecture
Experience writing unit, integration, and functional tests
English sufficient for professional communication
Nice to have
Experience with AWS (SNS, SQS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Lambda, ECS)
Experience with payment integrations (card processing, PayPal, etc.)
Experience with crypto or blockchain technologies
DevOps experience (Terraform, Serverless)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (GitLab, Jira, Docker)
Soft Skills
