Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on
QA Automation Engineer,
with strong technical expertise, to build our QA automation infrastructure from the ground up. This role owns the end-to-end quality strategy — from defining what to test, through tool and framework selection, to building, running, and analyzing automated tests integrated into our CI/CD pipeline.
You will work closely with Product, Engineering, and DevOps to ensure high-quality releases and scalable test coverage as the system grows.
What You’ll Build (First 6 Months)
Evaluate the current testing landscape and define the automation strategy
Select and set up the automation framework and tooling
Build the first automated test suites for critical API and integration flows
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI)
Establish test reporting, failure analysis, and quality metrics
Define test coverage targets and a roadmap for expanding automation
Key Responsibilities
Define
test scope and quality strategy
across APIs, integrations, UI, end-to-end flows and more
Select automation tools and
design the automation framework
Build, run, and maintain
scalable automated test suites
Integrate automation with
test and staging environments
and CI/CD pipelines
Analyze test results, failures, and trends; drive issues to resolution
Continuously improve test stability, coverage, and execution speed
Collaborate with engineering teams to shift quality left and embed testing into the development process
Requirements
5+ years
experience in
QA automation engineering
Proven experience
building automation infrastructure from scratch
Strong programming skills (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java)
Hands-on experience with automation tools/frameworks such as
Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, TestNG, JUnit
, REST automation, etc.
Solid understanding of
API testing tools
(Postman, REST Assured) and concepts.
Solid understanding of test strategies, test pyramids, and quality trade-offs
Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines
Strong debugging and failure analysis skills
Strong grasp of
SDLC
,
Agile/Scrum
, and QA best practices.
Experience with test case management and bug tracking tools (Jira, TestRail, etc.).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and drive initiatives without constant direction
High-level English proficiency
(written and spoken) is a must.
Nice to Have
Experience with financial/trading platforms or real-time data systems
Linux administration and shell scripting (bash)
Networking fundamentals (TCP, HTTP/HTTPS, WebSocket, SSL)
Experience with Java ecosystem (our backend stack)
Performance testing experience (JMeter, Gatling, k6)
Experience leading or mentoring QA team members
