Senior DevOps Engineer (fintech)

Description
We are looking for a
DevOps Engineer
to design, build, and operate a modern, secure, and highly available fintech infrastructure supporting payment processing, messaging systems, and distributed microservices. You will be responsible for automation, reliability, observability, and scalability of production systems.
Your Profile
Strong experience with Linux/Debian systems and networking.
Experience with at least one cloud provider (AWS preferred).
Docker and container orchestration experience.
CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.).
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar).
Experience with distributed systems and message queues.
Scripting skills (Ruby, Python, or Go).
Familiarity with common web/API security risks (OWASP Top 10 / OWASP API Top 10). sufficient to support secure deployment patterns and platform hardening.
Nice to Have
Experience in fintech, payments, or banking systems.
Experience using AI tools responsibly in day-to-day engineering workflows, aligned. with security and data-handling policies.
Knowledge of Ruby on Rails infrastructure.
Experience with Sidekiq / background job systems.
Experience with RabbitMQ / event streaming.
Kubernetes production operations.
High-load system tuning and scaling.
Observability stacks (Prometheus, Loki, Grafana).
Experience designing or operating secure remote access (IPsec, VPN, bastion, or Zero Trust) for administrative workflows.
What will you do
Design and maintain cloud-native infrastructure for fintech systems (AWS/Hetzner).
Build and support CI/CD pipelines for fast and safe deployments.
Manage containerized workloads using Docker and orchestration tools (Kubernetes preferred).
Ensure reliability of message-driven systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, event streaming).
Implement infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or equivalent (including testing).
Maintain high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK or similar).
Improve system security, compliance, and access control (fintech-grade requirements).
Support production systems, incident response, and post-mortems.
Collaborate closely with backend engineers (Rails, APIs, microservices).
Security and Compliance Focus
Work within PCI-DSS / ISO 27001 / SOC2-aligned environments.
Manage secrets securely (Vault or cloud secret managers).
Enforce least-privilege access and audit logging.
Ensure encryption of data in transit and at rest.
