Description
About A-Players
A-Players is a premier service company that places high-performing Business Associates with early-stage US tech startups. We don’t staff generalists — we match operators with founders who need
real execution capacity
where it matters most.
In this role, you’ll work directly with founders and their teams as a Business Associate with a
strong AI and systems focus
. Your job is to spot where manual work is slowing things down and build the workflows that fix it.
The Role
This is
not a technical or engineering role
. It’s a business and systems role for someone who understands how teams operate, identifies inefficiencies fast, and uses AI tools to
simplify workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and bring structure into daily operations
.
You’ll be embedded with a US startup and work closely with a founder,
C-level
executive, or head of a function — depending on the placement. The work varies, but the through-line is the same: you
think in systems
, you build things that work, and you make the team around you faster.
Some placements are heavy on automation and tooling. Others focus more on operational structure — building the systems a startup never had time to set up properly. What’s consistent: strong analytical thinking, comfort with AI tools, and the ability to
go from identifying a problem to shipping a solution
without much hand-holding.
What You’ll Do
Workflow analysis & automation
Map how teams currently operate across ops, sales, marketing, and product — then identify where manual work can be reduced or eliminated
Build
AI-powered workflows
that replace repetitive tasks and create visibility where there was none
Design and implement systems that scale — not quick fixes that break in two weeks
Examples of what this looks like in practice:
Automate invoicing flows — Stripe → Airtable or Notion, with reminders and tracking built in
Build CRM systems with enrichment, pipeline tracking, and reporting
Design communication systems — classification, routing, draft replies — so nothing falls through the cracks
Consolidate data from tools like email, WhatsApp, and Zoom into one place the team can actually use
Operations & tooling
Set up and maintain lightweight systems in
Notion, Airtable, or Google Sheets
that give founders visibility without adding overhead
Connect tools using integrations, webhooks, or no-code platforms so data moves automatically instead of manually
Document what you build clearly enough that someone else can maintain it
Founder & team support
Work closely with the founder or functional lead to understand priorities and translate them into systems that stick
Flag inefficiencies and propose solutions proactively — don’t wait to be asked
Communicate clearly about
what you’re building, why, and what it will change
What We’re Looking For
Hard skills
Hands-on experience with
LLM tools
— Claude, ChatGPT — in real workflows, not just experimentation
Experience building
multi-step automations
using n8n or similar tools
Ability to connect tools and move data using integrations, webhooks, or no-code platforms
Experience working with structured data in Airtable, Notion, or Google Sheets
Understanding of core business workflows — CRM pipelines, reporting, communication systems
Experience using advanced AI environments such as
Claude Projects, Claude Code
, or similar
Nice to have: deeper experience with APIs or light scripting; experience with Gemini or Microsoft Copilot.
Mindset & work style
You’ve built automations that
replaced real manual work
— not just demos or prototypes
You think in systems, not tasks — you see the upstream cause, not just the downstream symptom
You take initiative and act without waiting for instructions
You can clearly explain what you built, why it works, and what it changed
Low hand-holding required
— you work from context, not step-by-step direction
How the Trial Works
Before placement with a client, every AI Operator completes a
3-day
paid trial
. You’ll work through test cases developed by A-Players — realistic startup scenarios that reflect what the role actually looks like day to day.
This isn’t a formality. It’s a calibration: we use it to understand
how you think, how you build, and whether there’s a strong fit
before moving to a client interview. It protects your time as much as ours.
What Being an A-Players BA Means
Remote-first work in a
high-performing, globally distributed team
Performance-based growth with transparent salary and role reviews
Strong ownership culture — initiative, judgment, and impact are what move you forward
20 paid vacation days + unlimited sick leave
Continuous learning through internal workshops, training, and access to our knowledge base
Access to premium tools
How We Hire
Initial interview with the Team Lead
3-day
paid trial — test cases evaluated by A-Players
In-depth interview with our CEO (for some candidates)
Client interview and placement
Reference check
Compensation depends on your experience and the results of your trial.
If you think in systems, build things that actually work, and want to be the person who makes a startup run faster — we want to talk.
