About Bupa Arabia

Bupa Arabia is part of the global Bupa Group, which has been providing healthcare services for over 70 years to more than 30 million members across 190 countries. Headquartered in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Bupa Arabia is a fully Saudi-owned, publicly listed company and an associate business of Bupa Group.
The company serves over 3 million members — Saudi families, SMEs, and large corporates — offering comprehensive health insurance solutions across the Kingdom.
The Challenge They Are Solving

Bupa Arabia is undergoing a major data modernisation and AI transformation journey. Data has been partially migrated to BigQuery but remains ungoverned and not model-ready — there is no proper data mapping, no centralised curated layer, and business users currently depend heavily on ad-hoc SQL queries and manual reporting. Leadership lacks unified, self-service dashboards that surface the right metrics at the right time.
What They Are Building

The Data Engineering & Analytics team is building a modern, cloud-native analytics stack on Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery + Looker) to serve the entire organisation. The vision is:
A governed semantic layer in Looker that makes certified business metrics available to all stakeholders
Interactive, self-service dashboards for business users — reducing dependency on the data team for routine reporting
Scalable analytics infrastructure that feeds AI and ML use cases being developed on Vertex AI
What This Role Owns

Dashboard & Report Development — design and build interactive Looker dashboards and reports, translate business requirements into clear visualisations, implement filters, drill-downs, and user-level access controls
Self-Service BI Enablement — enable business users to independently explore data through certified Looker explores, provide training and best-practice guidance, define data governance guardrails, and track adoption
In-DB Semantic Layer & SQL Development — write and optimise complex SQL queries for analytics use cases, validate data accuracy and business logic, partner with Data Engineers to optimise BigQuery tables and partitions
Operations, Monitoring & Continuous Improvement — monitor dashboard performance and usage, maintain Looker content lifecycle (dev → prod), manage access controls, and continuously improve based on usage analytics
