Technologies
Description
Who we are:
Adaptiq is a technology hub specializing in building, scaling, and supporting R&D teams for high-end, fast-growing product companies in a wide range of industries.
About the Product:
We power a B2B open finance infrastructure platform that aggregates financial data and initiates payments across institutions, enabling services like real-time underwriting, bank-to-bank transfers, and portfolio analytics.
Operating in a single market with plans for international expansion, the platform handles large-scale data ingestion, event-driven processing, and transaction routing for banks, fintechs, insurers, and retailers, meeting regulatory open finance requirements.
Engineers work on high-throughput processing, low-latency APIs, distributed microservices, and enterprise-grade security in a highly complex environment.
About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer who can design and own backend systems end-to-end, mentor other developers, and handle production Kubernetes environments.
You will collaborate with product and engineering, guide technical direction, mentor others, and help shape best practices in microservices, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and implement core backend features using Python, Django, and Celery.
Design and maintain RESTful APIs and event-driven microservices for data exchange and payment initiation.
Model, query, and optimize complex datasets in PostgreSQL.
Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot services on Kubernetes in AWS (and on-prem OpenShift environments).
Drive technical designs: define data schemas, service contracts, and CI/CD pipelines.
Collaborate with product managers to refine requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
Mentor and review work of junior and mid-level engineers; share domain knowledge.
Participate in on-call rotation and incident response to maintain high availability.
Contribute to lightweight React front-end adjustments when backend integrations require UI support.
Help set standards, frameworks, and patterns for future development.
Required Competence and Skills:
6+ years
of experience with
Python
building, designing, and owning backend systems
Proven
expertise in
Django,
building backend applications and APIs
Proven experience with
Celery
(or equivalent task-queue frameworks)
Strong background in designing and consuming
REST APIs
and event-driven
microservices.
Production experience with
Kubernetes
on AWS.
Deep
knowledge of
PostgreSQL
- data modeling, indexing, query optimization
Hands-on with cloud-native services and serverless functions (e.g., AWS Lambda).
Solid understanding of
CI/CD
practices and infrastructure as code.
Experience in diagnosing and resolving performance and reliability issues in
high-traffic
systems.
Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills
Nice to Have:
Experience with Oracle databases or Node.js services.
Prior work with React for lightweight front-end tasks.

We provide full accounting and legal support in all countries we operate.
We utilize a fully remote work model with a powerful workstation and co-working space in case you need it.
We offer a highly competitive package with yearly performance and compensation reviews.
