Role Overview
We are looking for a Middle QA Engineer with strong manual testing fundamentals and practical automation experience to join our remote team for long-term work on modern web applications, often high-traffic, customer-facing ecommerce products.
This is a hands-on QA role for someone who can confidently test features manually, report clear issues, support regression and release testing, and contribute automated coverage in an existing Playwright-based stack. You are not expected to build an automation framework from scratch, but you should be comfortable adding and maintaining tests, updating locators, debugging failures, and improving test reliability over time.
AI tools are welcome when used responsibly to speed up analysis, test design, documentation, and repetitive QA tasks.
Essential Functions
- Perform manual testing of modern web applications across desktop and mobile browsers
- Validate ecommerce flows such as product discovery, PDP/PLP behavior, cart, checkout, account, order history, promotions, and customer-facing UI
-Create clear bug reports with steps to reproduce, actual and expected results, environment details, screenshots, and videos when needed
- Support smoke, regression, exploratory, and release testing
- Contribute to automated test coverage using Playwright
- Maintain existing automated tests, update locators, debug failures, and investigate flaky behavior
- Collaborate with developers, PMs, delivery leads, and other QA engineers to clarify requirements, validate fixes, and communicate testing status
- Help create and maintain test checklists, test notes, and QA documentation
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional manual QA experience on web applications
- 3+ years of experience with regression testing and bug reporting
- 2+ years of experience with UI automation testing
- Hands-on experience with Playwright
- Basic working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript
- Good understanding of frontend web behavior, responsive layouts, browser differences, and common ecommerce user flows
- Ability to test both happy paths and edge cases using practical risk-based thinking
- Strong attention to detail and clear written communication
- Experience with Jira or similar issue tracking tools
- Experience working in remote, distributed teams
- Ecommerce or marketplace domain experience is required or strongly preferred
