Job VC
UAV Systems Engineer (ArduPilot / Onboard Systems)
Technologies
Description
Our client is a defense holding scaling into a management structure with specialized verticals in optics, communications, and strike systems (Deep Strike). The company develops and mass-produces a line of UAVs — ranging from reconnaissance drones to long-range solutions that change the situation in the field every day.
We are looking for an engineer to synchronize all modules into a unified system, configure the autopilot, and ensure that every drone coming off the assembly line works perfectly and meets the real-world demands of operators “in the field.”
Responsibilities:
Systems Integration: Integrating all onboard components (FC, ESC, GPS, VTX, sensors) into a single, fault-tolerant system. Ensuring stable operation of interfaces (UART, CAN, I2C, SPI).
ArduPilot Configuration: Customizing and tuning the autopilot for various frame types and mission profiles. Working with MAVLink protocols and GCS (Mission Planner / QGC).
Power Systems Design: Developing power architecture (PDB, BEC, redundancy) and performing precise power consumption calculations for the system.
Payload Integration: Connecting and configuring auxiliary equipment (initiation modules, relays, drop systems).
Testing Cycle: Conducting bench and field (in-situ) trials. Analyzing flight logs to identify and resolve technical bugs.
Production Synchronization: Creating technical documentation (wiring diagrams, changelogs) to transfer finalized configurations into serial production.
Requirements:
3-4+
years of experience in UAVs, robotics, or Embedded systems.
Deep understanding of flight controller tuning and a proven track record of successful onboard systems integration.
Understanding of the operating principles of electronics, telemetry, and communication systems. Ability to read and analyze complex flight logs.
Readiness to work in close collaboration with the R&D team and respond promptly to requests from the front line.
Company offer:
Official deferment (booking) from day one (Diia City contract).
Competitive salary aligned with the level of responsibility and task complexity.
Guidance from leading Tech Leads in a professional environment that values results over processes.
Rapid idea implementation cycle.
24 days of annual leave, sick leave compensation, corporate English classes, and 7 additional days off per year.
Location:
Kyiv
