The client has recently secured significant strategic investment and entered a new phase of growth and investment, creating strong long-term momentum for engineering and technology initiatives.
This role is primarily focused on backend processes, data integrity validation, and testing of complex calculations, rather than frontend/UI testing.

The ideal candidate should have strong analytical QA experience and be comfortable working with the validation of complex backend processes, calculations, data transformations, and processing outputs.

Engagement Details
Start date: immediate
Initial term: 6 months (with possible extension)
Extension possibility: yes
Work format: fully remote
Working hours: 8 hours per day aligned with UK business hours

About the Project
The QA Engineer will support backend systems responsible for processing and analyzing manufacturing and machine-generated datasets used in operational activities.

The team is currently working through a priority backlog of business-critical tasks related to:
backend calculations
file processing
data transformations
manufacturing reporting
analytical tools

This is not a traditional UI-focused QA role. The majority of testing will involve:
backend validation
data integrity verification
calculation accuracy
file processing verification
analytical workflows

The team works remotely following an Agile Kanban-style approach.

Required Experience and Skills
Technical
5+ years of experience in Manual QA
Strong background in backend/system testing
Experience validating systems with large data volumes or complex processing
Experience with SQL/database validation
Experience planning and writing test plans and test scripts
Experience reporting on testing progress and test coverage
Strong defect investigation and reporting skills
Experience working in Agile teams

Strong experience with remote collaboration

Strong communication skills
Ability to operate in an environment with shifting priorities and delivery pressure

Performing manual testing of backend processing and calculation systems
Verifying file processing and calculation outputs
Validating integrity and correctness of business-critical data transformations
Planning and writing test plans and test scripts
Reporting on testing progress and test coverage completion
Supporting defect discovery, triage, reporting, and retesting processes
Collaborating closely with developers throughout the delivery cycle
Participating in Agile meetings and delivery discussions
Documenting testing activities and results
