We are looking for a Lead/Senior Python Developer to join a USA-based project. The company is developing a next-generation interface web platform that helps people capture ideas, thoughts, and context seamlessly, wherever they are. The product combines software and hardware, including a voice-first interface and a wearable device designed to make interaction feel intuitive, and fast.
This is an early-stage, high-ownership environment where engineers work closely with founders, influence technical decisions, and help shape both the product and the engineering culture from the ground up.
Requirements:
Core Requirements:
7+ years of experience building and shipping production software in startup or fast-growing environments.
Solid backend development experience with Python (FastAPI or similar frameworks).
Experience designing and maintaining API-first systems (REST), asynchronous services, and distributed architectures.
Advanced debugging skills and experience investigating production incidents.
Good understanding of system performance optimization and reliability engineering principles.
Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, or similar tools.
Solid understanding of logging, tracing, metrics, and alerting systems.
Ability to improve system reliability, reduce latency, and maintain operational stability.
Practical use of AI tools in daily development (e.g., AI-powered IDEs, code assistants, testing or refactoring tools).
Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
High level of ownership with the ability to drive technical decisions independently.
English — Upper-Intermediate level or higher.
Infrastructure & Cloud:
Deep understanding of AWS services and cloud infrastructure management.
Knowledge of infrastructure scalability, reliability, and cost optimization practices.
Experience operating and maintaining production environments.
Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and infrastructure automation tools.
Nice to Have:
Background in fast-paced startup environments and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.
Experience with React and building web applications.
Experience developing internal engineering tools and developer tooling.
Exposure to on-call rotations and production operations.
Experience with containerized environments and deployment pipelines.
Experience monitoring and optimizing AI-related costs, usage, and performance.
Understanding of asynchronous and AI-related workflows.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with founders and cross-functional teams to refine and implement technical requirements.
Design and build high-quality, scalable backend systems and APIs using Python.
Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering best practices and maintainable code standards.
Take ownership of production systems, including debugging issues, investigating incidents, and ensuring system reliability.
